Notchcliff Nature Programs

Our programs offer immersive outdoor play and exploration in nature each week on the campus of Glen Meadows Retirement Community in Glen Arm, MD. Notchcliff Forest Preschool offers options for our half-day, drop-off program. Throughout the year, we welcome families to join us for special "Family Forest Days" and Elderflowers Nature Walks with the elders at Glen Meadows Retirement Community. Family field trips are another way families build community and discover the incredible natural places in the greater Baltimore area.

Our Forest School Cooperative is a special opportunity for children in home school K-5th (ages 5-10) to explore nature. Classes options are available Monday-Friday, depending on your child's age, from 9 a.m. - 1p.m. and also runs for a full school year (Sept. - May).

We offer a weekly Seedlings Caregiver + Child Nature Series and  Summer Forest Friends, which are licensed nature camps and community events such as Earth Day Fairy Fest. Contact us if you'd like to learn more!

About Our Natural Community

We offer programs that encourage nature connection, environmental stewardship, sustainable living, and appreciation for our shared natural world. Programs are ideal for children, families, and adults who seek meaningful ways to know nature.

Our learning community, including Notchcliff Nature Programs and our forest preschool, are community-based initiatives of the Eastern Region Association of Forest and Nature Schools, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to nature-based teacher training and education.
