Summer Forest Friends

Join us for leafy adventures this summer! Children ages 3-5 (entering preschool) and ages 5-7 (entering K-2nd grades) will roam the forests and fields making seasonal discoveries and new friends. We will explore meadow, stream, pond, and woodland habitats, play games, make nature arts and handcrafts, and more!

This is a playful way to extend forest school throughout the summer. Classes take place 100% outdoors, rain-or-shine! Two nature-loving teachers guide up to 12 children during Forest Friends classes. A complete list of gear, weather policies, and other details will be provided in your confirmation email upon registration.

Registration: Sign-up is for an entire session (two weeks in June, three weeks in July, or two weeks in August).  Drop-off classes run on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9-1 p.m. with an optional (unstructured) nature play date for families on Fridays. You can learn more and register here through our umbrella non-profit organization.

Community Building: Each Friday during your child's session, we open up our forest classroom for an optional nature play date for families. This provides a way for you to meet other families and enjoy the forest classroom we've established at Glen Meadows exclusively for our programs. One teacher will be present, but this is not scheduled programming - it is simply a way to gather and play in community.

Enrollment Requirements: Your child must be three years old by the 1st of the session they will attend. (EX. If you child turns three on July 3, they can attend the July session). Toilet-training is not required, but please let us know about this sensitive topic in advance so we can best support your child's needs.

We honor the diverse background and abilities of everyone in our learning community. We work closely with families to ensure that every child receives necessary accommodations to thrive. Reach out to Monica if you have specific questions about our approach to inclusion or need financial assistance to attend, please contact

Family Agreement: Immersive outdoor learning means just that - we are outdoors in all kinds of weather! Please read and sign the handbook and Family Agreement to acknowledge important policies that guide our program.

Our gear guide, weather policies and other details are provided in your confirmation email. We look forward to amazing adventures with you and your child this summer!
