Summer Forest Friends

outdoor summer nature camps

Registration for 2024-25 is now open!

Camp options are available for ages 3-5 (entering preschool), ages 5-7 (entering K-2nd grades), and ages 8-10 (entering grades 3-5th). Campers will roam the forests and fields making seasonal discoveries and new friends. We will explore meadow, stream, pond, and woodland habitats, play games, make nature arts and handcrafts, and more. These camps fill, so don't delay if you want your child to attend!

Our nature camps offer a playful way to experience forest school throughout the summer. Classes take place 100% outdoors, rain-or-shine! Two nature-loving teachers guide up to 12 children during Summer Forest Friends. In addition, we have teen volunteer Counselors-In-Training who assist staff during select weeks of camp. A complete list of gear, weather policies, and other details is provided in your confirmation email upon registration.

Registration: Camp registration is for one session of drop-off, outdoor classes that run Monday through Thursday from 9-1 p.m. with an optional (unstructured) nature play date for families on Fridays from 10-12 p.m. Weekly camp rate is $275 as described above. If you have any questions about registration, please contact our administrative assistant, Jasmine Atkins.

Community Building: Each Friday, we open up the forest classroom for an optional nature play date for families. This provides a way to enjoy the forest classroom at Glen Meadows, which is exclusively used for Notchcliff programs. Families who register for camp or any other Notchcliff programs are welcome to attend any Fridays throughout the summer for FREE! One teacher will be present, but please note, this is not scheduled programming - it is simply a way to gather and play in community. If you enjoy gardening, we always appreciate help tending and watering our Pollinator Garden, too.

Enrollment Requirements: Your child must be three years old by the 1st of the session they will attend. (EX. If you child turns three on July 3, they can attend the July session). Toilet-training is not required, but please let us know about this sensitive topic in advance so we can best support your child's needs.

Family Agreement: Immersive outdoor learning means just that - we are outdoors in all kinds of weather! Families must read and sign our Family Agreement to acknowledge important policies that guide our program.

Our gear guide, weather policies and other details are provided in your confirmation email. We look forward to amazing adventures with you and your child this summer!
